Here is a beautiful first edition, first printing of The Lost Princess of Oz book by L Frank Baum, published in 1917 by Reilly & Britton. As specified in the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum for the first edition, the publisher’s advertisement on the back of the ownership page lists Lost Princess as the last title and there are 12 color plates without captions. This fabulous book also has the correct 1st printing light blue cloth and double horizontal rules at the top and bottom of the spine, which reads “Reilly &/ Britton”. With pictorial endpapers.
The book is in amazing, near fine condition. The cover pastedown is clean and bright. The spine has a very slight toning compared to the cloth on the rear cover, but is still clean and bright. The rear cover looks great. Inside, both hinges are tight and the endpapers are clean except for a faint old price and erasure mark in the upper corner. Name and address on the Book Belongs to page. The rest of the book and pages are in fine condition, with all 12 color plates present and in perfect condition. Pages are super clean. A superior copy of a desirable Baum first edition.
