Here is a very nice first edition copy of one of the scarcer Oz books, “Hidden Valley of Oz”, by author Rachel Cosgrove. With the original un-priceclipped dust jacket! Copyright 1951 by Reilly & Lee, this meets all the first edition point of the Book Collector Guide to L Frank Baum with the paste-down cover plate. Cloth binding A. Illustrations in B&W by Dirk (this book was published later and never had color plates). The first edition dust jacket is priced at $2.50 and Hidden Valley being the last named volume on the list of Oz books on the rear flap.

The book is in near fine condition–Color pastedown looks great; spine and rear cover are clean and straight, hinges tight, binding solid. There is name and 1952 date on the Book Belong To page but other than that, the endpapers and pages clean without marks, tears or odor. The jacket is very good–complete and not price-clipped, with a check mark by one of the list of books, and some tiny bits of tape along the borders from an old repair.
