Description
Here is a nice copy of Lucky Bucky in Oz, with the unusual spine imprint w/o an illustration where “OZ” is spelled out (rather than a figural device), and where REILLY & LEE is given in all caps at the base. According to the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, this (second) printing only was published between about 1944-1946, which may explain why it’s a much harder spine imprint to find. Published by Reilly & Lee and copyright 1942 by John R. Neill, Oz illustrator who continued writing the series for a while. Book also has a full color pastedown, black and white illustrations by Neill, and blank endpapers.
This is a good plus copy with a little spotting to base of cover plate, spine a little dirty, and the number 36 written on the back cover as shown. Inside, light spotting to the front endpaper and edge of textblock. Otherwise, the pages are clean and the hinges are tight. No writing, tears, or odor!
