Description
Here is a first edition of “The Lost King of Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1925 by Reilly & Lee, 1st edition, 1st printing according to the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, as it has 12 beautiful color plates by John R. Neill, with a glossy coating only on the front side.
Book is in very good condition overall, with the only real flaws being a light scratch on right side of pastedown and a small bit of color loss on the T of “The” at upper right. The spine and rear cover are near fine, as is the interior, where the hinges are tight and the pages are very clean. Faint erasure mark on corner of free endpaper. Ownership page is blank. One page near the end has a small piece of lower corner missing. The 12 color plates are intact and in great condition. A beautiful collectible copy.
