Description

Here is a nice early printing of Grampa in Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Copyright 1924 by Reilly & Lee, with 12 color plates by John R. Neill. (This is the only early Oz book that didn’t have a color frontispiece as one of the 12 plates). Brick red cloth with attractive illustrated endpapers. The type at the bottom of p. 171 is damaged, indicating that while this is an early (pre-1935) printing, it’s not the very 1st printing.

Book is in very nice overall condition, but with a couple flaws. The exterior cloth is in clean except for a little discoloration on rear cover, the pastedown has light wear. Inside, both hinges are cracked but the binding is holding together well; Book Belongs to page appears to have a name neatly erased, and bookseller’s old pencil notations not erased. The rest of the book is very clean, and all 12 color plates are present and in excellent, near fine condition. A smart looking copy overall.
