Description
Here is a 1st edition Wizard of Oz book titled The Gnome King of Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson, by John R. Neill, with a later dust jacket. The book is a 1927 1st printing with 12 color plates, but the dust jacket flap lists to Hidden Valley in Oz (1951), so was apparently added later. The book also has illustrated endpapers and is a hard to find Thompson 1st.
The book is in good condition, with some wear and scratching to cover plate as shown. The spine has a little wear at ends and the rear cover is clean. Inside, the hinges have a little loss and look to have been glue repaired, and there is a little loss to the edges of rear endpaper, and the free endpaper has also been folded. All 12 color plates are present, and a the Book Belongs To page has a 1930 inscription. The rest of the book is quite clean and the color plates are quite beautiful. The dust jacket is near very good only, not price-clipped and with some light edge wear and tear as shown.
