Here is a first edition/first printing of Glinda of Oz by L. Frank Baum, in the original dust jacket! Published in 1920 by Reilly & Lee, with Glinda of Oz being the last book in the publisher’s advertisement in the front, as well as on the dust jacket flap. The book has 12 color plates by John R. Neill, without captions, as well as nice illustrated endpapers. The 1st edition dust jacket has $2.00 Net on the spine. (Reference: The Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum).
The book is in very good or better condition, with a nice cover pastedown with a small stain on Dorothy’s stocking, a clean rear cover and a little spotting along the left side of the spine as shown. The interior is near fine, with tight binding, clean endpapers, owner’s name on Book Belongs To page, 12 color plates in excellent condition. There is a printing flaw on p. 87, with some blurriness at the top right corner. The jacket is good, with some chipping at top and base of spine, a little on front panel edges, some splitting along spine edge and flap edge repaired on the back with tape, and a stain at base of front cover only visible from the back side (see photos). A hard to find Baum 1st, particularly in the original jacket!
