Here is a nice 1st edition of The Giant Horse of Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson. A 1928 first printing with 12 color plates, published by Reilly & Lee. This is the real-deal first printing with the misprint “Oniberon” for “Quiberon” on the frontispiece and page 126 and 127 in correct order (referencing Bibiliographia Oziana details). With decorated Oz end papers.
The cover is in nice shape, with an intact pastedown, clean spine and rear cover. Both hinges are cracked inside however; the front one badly so with webbing exposed, so the book is floppy, but holding. Pages are in good shape with light finger soiling. All 12 color plates are present and in quite good condition, with about 1 mm of yellow bleed at the bottom from the yellow staining on the edges–not sure if this happened during manufacture or after. Ownership page filled in. So, not a bad first if you aren’t fastidious about broken hinges (you know who you are!)
