Here is an unusual Copp Clark edition of Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz book, written by L Frank Baum and published in Canada. Copp Clark published many of the Wizard of Oz books in first edition format, and then reprinted just a few in the 40’s. Dorothy is one of these. The book itself is not that uncommon, but uncommon in original Copp-Clark dust jacket. The jacket lists titles to Scalawagons in Oz, dating the book to about 1941. With B&W illustrations by John R Neill.
Book itself in excellent externally, with bright pastedown and spine. Internally, binding is tight and two pages have chips and old tape marks along margin. Book Belongs To pages is blank. Book was printed on acidic wartime paper that is browning throughout, as is usual with this title. The dust jacket is near very good, closed tear at top corner; rear flap has a corner chip and some tears on back near flap. Overall, a decent example of this Copp Clark edition, rare in dust jacket.
