Description
Here is an early printing of “Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz”, fourth of the Oz books written by L Frank Baum. Copyright 1908, this is the earliest Reilly & Lee printing from 1919 (last title in list in front is Magic of Oz). This is the version of the cover with a yellow background and Dorothy still present (see Bibliographia Oziana).
The book has all 16 of the original 16 color plates as issued, in nice condition though a few are loosening slightly. The color cover pastedown has a chunk missing at lower right. There is some wear at the back spine edge and some scuffing to rear cover edge as shown. Inside, the rear hinge is intact but the front one is cracked as shown. Book Belongs To page has a neat pencil name an there is a foxing and a light stain on the title page. Remaining pages are in generally nice condition.
