The Baum Bugle is the magazine put out by the International Wizard of Oz Club, which has been around since 1957. Because the club was so small in those days, early issues of the Bugle are extremely hard to find. I’m offering here one of these scarce issues from 1959–the sixth issue! Issue is only four pages (including cover), with black and white illustrations. From the Martin Gardner collection, with some underlining presumably by him. In good condition with some age toning. Copyright Justin G. Schiller.
This issue contains the following special material:
Dick Martin illustrated cover
L Frank Baum’s knowledge of his place in writing by Russell Macfall
Oz Comic page 1904-1905 (story of Queer Vistors Wogglebug strip by Baum) by Fred Meyer
Short essay on Oz books by Edward Wagenknecht
Short essay on Oz books by C Beecher Hogan
