Here is a great 1st edition, 3rd printing of “The Scarecrow of Oz”, 9th of the Oz books written by L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1915, published ca 1918 by Reilly & Britton, with Tin Woodman of Oz the last title listing on the advertisement page in front. With 12 color plates by John R. Neill and black and white decorated endpapers.
Book is in fair to good condition. Front cover ipastedown is missing a small piece at left leading to a tiny hole on the spine edge. Otherwise the spine and rear cover are clean. Inside, the front hinge was professionally repaired while the rear one is cracked and missing some of its paper. Book belongs to page has a name stamp, and the first and last few pages have a little staining on the fore-edge. The 12 color plates are all in nice condition, though the pages have significant staining throughout. A hard to find Reilly & Britton printing, offered at a discounted price due to condition.
