Description
Very scarce Wizard of Oz antique collectible that I’ve been looking for for decades; then I found two in the same year! This “Scarecrow of Oz Answers Questions by Radio” has a metal spinner on front. Inside, there is a movable dial–you set it to the question you want to answer about an Oz book or character, and when you close the cover, the spinner moves to the correct answer!
Patent date of 1924, also advertises Oz books to the Lost King of Oz, which was published in 1925. Now over years old. This one advertises the Oz book publisher, Reilly & Lee of Chicago on the back, while others advertise various bookstores. Complete and in overall nice condition, though it does have a little creasing and someone has written the subsequent Oz book, “The Hungry Tiger of Oz ” on the inside as shown. It looks a little like Ruth Plumly Thompson’s writing, but I can’t be sure. Works perfectly. Measures about 3.5″x5.5″–a little crowning gem for your collection.
