Description

Here is Woman’s Work, written by Elbert Hubbard’s second wife Alice Hubbard, an early feminist. Published in 1908 by the Roycrofters. 157 pages plus colophon. There is a lovely sepia frontispiece of Alice protected with a tissue guard. The cover, title page, initials and ornaments in the book are beautifully crafted by famed papermaker and designer Dard Hunter and printed in tan and a bluish grey ink. First edition in paper covered boards with cloth spine.

The book is in very good condition. The exterior boards have light toning and corner bumping. Spine is in great condition. The binding is solid, and the front endpaper has an old price in pencil, while the rear endpaper has a numbered Roycroft seal–perhaps from their library? The rest of the pages are in quite nice condition with no writing, marks or tears noted.
