Here is an interesting little softcover book that provides a short history of the Roycroft Shop as written by Elbert Hubbard himself in 1908. According to Hubbard, the editor of “The Cosmopolitan Magazine” asked him to “write an article for publication about myself and the work in which I am engaged”. Describes in details Hubbard’s early writing attempts, his creation of the Philistine magazine, his involvement with bookbinder Louis Kinder, etc. Presumably this was also published in the Cosmopolitan, but this is an original 1908 booklet printed by the Roycrofters. 28 pages, small sewn wraps (4 1/2×6″).
In very good condition, with light cover wear. Interior is excellent.
