Here is a wonderful Roycroft full levant leather edition of White Hyacinths by Elbert Hubbard, copyright 1907. Most beautiful, with gilt decorated Morocco binding attributed to Louis Kinder on the Roycroftbooks.org website. The book’s title page and internal ornaments were designed by Dard Hunter, printed on Japan Vellum, marbled endpapers. Number 47 of an edition of just 207 copies, signed by Elbert Hubbard, measures just 4 ¾” by 6 5/8”. Spine with raised bands and gilt lettering and a floral design that matches the gilt corner design. Also includes a small piece of original ephemera laid in: “How to open a book”.
Book is in near fine condition. Leather is clean, spine looks virtually new, binding and hinges are solid. There is a little glare/reflection in the photos but the leather is in great shape. There is a 1918 gift inscription on the front endpaper. Silk bookmark still attached. A very special Roycroft item that was fortunately well cared for!
