Description

Oz illustrator W W Denslow also designed for the Roycrofters, and while most of his work for them was done in the late 1800s, he also spent a period with them in 1906-1907. This Little Journey to the Homes of Reformers pamphlet with a new cover design (including his seahorse monogram) was one of the results. This October 1907 is Elbert Hubbard’s story of Oliver Cromwell, with a decorated Cromwell quote on the rear cover. Also with many interesting period advertisements, including Roycroftie modeled leather and a Swastika (good fortune) magazine!

In overall good condition with string binding slightly loose and edge wear to pages which are printed on fragile, acidic paper. With, a damaged copy of the Philistine from July 1913, with Denslow’s Seahorse design holding up the volume number on the cover.
