Here is another unusual item by Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s Old Mother Hubbard. Copyright 1903, this is the original first printing of Denslow’s picture books published by Dillingham. Fully illustrated with color and Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature on every page, as well as illustrated endpapers. Cutest ever little dog in this book, and I loved his relationship with the cat! He feeds the cat soup, and the cat is napping beside him as he reads the paper. Charming. Oversized fragile softcover, 8 pages plus covers (decorated inside), 9″ by 11″.
In fair to good condition with chip to base of cover, spine and corner wear, especially on back, fold marks. Inside, inner gathering is starting to detach, which is common with these books, and pages have some small edge tears. One tear has old tape mark about 2/3″ long. No writing and graphics still bright and beautiful. A placeholder 1st til you can find a better copy.
