Here is another adorable book by Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s House that Jack Built. Copyright 1903, this is the true 1st edition published by Dillingham in 1903 with a dark background. (Later Dillingham printings used white accents, and then Donohue reprinted in several formats).
Fully illustrated with color and Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature on every page, as well as illustrated endpapers. One of my favorites due to the profusion of goofy animals Denslow has included. And, as a bonus, a Wizard of Oz Scarecrow in the farmer’s cornfield! Oversized softcover, 9″ by 11″. This series is hard to find in decent condition as they were loved to death; this one is complete and in good but not very good condition overall. Cover has a little color loss and creasing, and the spine has some wear but is holding. Inside, the pages are relatively clean and some edge tears have been repaired with archival glue. Recent reprints abound, be sure to get the original!
