Here is another great picture book by Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s Animal Fair. Copyright 1903, this is a slightly later and larger edition (circa 1913) published by Donohue. Fully illustrated with color and Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature on every page. Denslow’s animals are the best–check out the illustration where the owl is reading the stork’s palm!
What makes this book especially nice is that it’s in very good plus condition–especially unusual since Den’s softcover picture books are often loved to death. This copy has age toning and light horizontal pressure striation to covers, light corner bumping, fully intact spine, no tears, no writing, minimal soiling, just a lovely copy. Remarkably fresh and nicely printed, too. Will ship with a custom archival cover. For more information on this series, see Bill Thompson’s article on p 40-47 of the Spring 2015 Baum Bugle.
