Here is a very cool complete set of 32 Russian postcards, with art by Leonid Vladimirsky, who also illustrated books and postcards for the Wizard of Oz “Magic Land” book series by Alexander Volkov. These stunning postcards depict the epic Russian fairy tale of Ruslan and Ludmilla by Alexander Pushkin, a story of the abduction of princess Ludmila by an evil wizard and the attempt by the brave knight Ruslan to find and rescue her. This stunning 1966 set include the rare tri-fold cover! These are large cards, about 4″ x 6″ in size. Dated 1966 on cover and cards.
In amazing condition for a 50-year old set, probably due to the cover being included. Cover has light edge wear but cards are unused and in near fine condition. Each one a little work of art, selling for ~$7 each on Ebay (here), and here are 32 of them plus the cover–do the math. There is a later set by another artist, but these are the ones by Vladimirsky. See also my other listings of Russian postcard sets with sleeves, one with Wizard of Oz art by Vladimirsky.
