Description
Here is a complete set of 16 1962 Russian Wizard of Oz postcards, with the original cover sleeve! Leonid Vladimirsky illustrated the postcards as well as the Ozzy “Magic Land” book series by Alexander Volkov on which Russian children were raised. The tri-fold cover features Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin-Man and the Lion. These are large cards, about 4″ x 6″ in size. While now being reproduced, these are definitely originals (messages on back hand dated 1963), and usually came in two different color schemes within a single set, for unknown reasons.
Condition is very good overall, with light wear to cover and postcard corners. Postally used, dated 1963, with four different types of Russian 4 ruble stamps on the back. See this Youtube video I made long ago with a different set of this cards. Scarce in original sleeve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2zHBh6PZlE (2:45).
