Here is a nice copy of Clover’s Princess, copyright 1904 by Henry Altemus. With color frontispiece and 6 black and white illustrations by Wizard of Oz illustrator John R. Neill. Author is Amanda M. Douglas. One of Altemus’ Holly Tree series with beautiful pictorial cover in the second binding format. With blank endpapers so circa 1911 or shortly after, according to the reference site http://henryaltemus.com/series/series105.htm. 95 pages.
The book cover is in wonderful condition–probably the nicest I have seen. Very clean and bright. Inside, the front illustrated endpaper has a 1915 inscription and considerable staining–perhaps from an old flower laid in? Rear endpaper also has some foxing and some chipping at pasted edges. Other pages are mostly clean with occasional stains. The binding is tight, and the illustrations are in very nice condition.
