One Russian Wizard of Oz Postcard-Your Choice-Volkov-Art by Vladimirski

In stock

Here are some lovely original postcards based on a set of Wizard of Oz books in Russian, by Aleksandr Volkov –the “Magic Land” series on which Russian children were raised. Leonid Vladimirski illustrated both the book series and the set of 16 postcards originally issued. There are two types–some with an amber wash or glaze and some without. I think they were actually printed this way, rather than aging, as I’ve seen cards with a gap where the glaze wasn’t applied correctly.
In addition to the 3 shown on the first image, I also have one with the Tin Woodman cutting down a tree with Toto barking at his feet.
All unused and in good condition, some with small flaws. Your choice of cards for $8 each–select the quantity you want in the cart, and enter a description of the cards that you need in the “Order Notes” section at Checkout. Additional cards ship free. Thanks!
