Here is a Victorian trade card most likely illustrated by Wizard of Oz artist W W Denslow. “Clear the Track” shows a chubby man knocking others over at the rollerskating rink. The design was printed by lithographer Baker & Hayes, with whom Denslow did other work (see Spring 2015 Baum Bugle for more info). He didn’t sign his cards for Baker and Hayes, but the characters and lettering are in his style of the period, and the card bears the overlapping B&H mark. There are at least 4 cards in this series.
In very good condition with some old adhesive marks on back.
Please check out the “Oz Illustrators” section in my Ebay store for other unusual Denslow items.
