Vintage THE WOOZY Dick Martin Cutout Patchwork Girl of Oz Book Character, Brown Uncut

In stock

This is a cutout sheet for the “Woozy”, an endearing creature created by L. Frank Baum in The Patchwork Girl of Oz. Meant for you to cut out (not perforated) and fold and glue into a 3D Woozy. Printed on 9″ by 11 1/2″ cardstock, I believe this Woozy was created by Dick Martin ca. 1970. I got several of these from someone who used to go to Oz conventions, and so cut and folded one so you can see what it looks like, but the folded one isn’t included–you will just get the flat cardstock sheet. Put together, this Woozy is about 5″ tall. It looks a lot like the one that was originally issued as a 1913 store display advertising Patchwork Girl and shown on p. 16 of the Oz Collector’s Treasury book. This Woozy is brown, like that one, and a little larger and more worn than the blue ones I sold before, which were probably made later. (Very early Woozy toys are discussed in the Spring 1997 Baum Bugle).

Item is in good condition, with a little edge wear. Enjoy!
