Here is a rare old “The Theatre” magazine from August 1902. Of interest to us is the two-paragraph synopsis and favorable review of the early Wizard of Oz stageplay created by L Frank Baum. The poppy scene is described in some detail. The article also has 4 nice images of characters (including Montgomery and Stone as the Scarecrow and Tinman) and scenes from the play. The magazine is 32 pages, oversized, profusely illustrated on high-quality paper but in fair overall condition because the cover has edge chipping and tears. The inner pages are still in very nice shape.
