Description

The Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz (called “The Strawman” there) was one of the featured characters at The Century of Progress–Enchanted Island exhibit at the Chicago 1933/1934 World’s Fair. Here is a souvenir booklet with “Official Pictures” of the Century of Progress exhibition. Copyright, 1933, the Reuben H. Donnelley Corp, Chicago. Nice color cover, about 40 pages of B&W photos with many interesting scenes, including one of the giant Scarecrow. The buildings really show the Art Deco influence of the time. See the Spring 1977 Baum Bugle for more information on Oz at the hair.

Booklet intact and in good condition with some staining lower half of cover. Interior very good.
