Here’s an amazing set of typed signed letters from famed Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney, both written on MGM stationery. Each star refers to the other and is promoting their new movie, Babes on Broadway, which would date the letters to about 1941. Each is about 5 1/4″ x 7 1/4″, with their name and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Culver City at the bottom. They are on an older textured paper stock, with Judy’s initials at top left and Mickey’s full name at the top of his. The signatures are in blue ink. I can find a couple similar sold ones in auction records on the same stationery, and the signatures are slightly different, which means they are hand signed. It’s possible a studio representative signed them; I’m not sure. But a nice historical set and wonderful to have them both together.
In good condition, with some wrinkling to paper.
