Description

Before L. Frank Baum became famous for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, he worked for the family “Castorine” company. Castorine was a sort of miracle axle grease for buggies. See the full story in Bill Thompson’s detailed article in the Spring 2006 Baum Bugle. This is a scarce label from Baum’s Castorine “Top Cylinder Concentrate”, measuring 4 1/4″x6 3/4. It is undated, but from after the company was sold and moved from Syracuse to Rome. I’ve never seen one of these before!

Label is in excellent condition, but is definitely vintage on old paper.
