Here is another fabulous Oz item for the serious collector. This beautiful vintage poster advertises Royal Baking Powder and the Gingerbread Man booklet written by Ruth Plumly Thompson of Wizard of Oz fame. Thompson wrote at least four of these wonderfully illustrated little booklets in the 1920’s. The Little Gingerbread Man came out in 1923, and its beautiful full-color illustrations are usually attributed to Charles Coll. I found another site where this display poster is for sale ($375!) that attributes the poster to Lucille Patterson Marsh.

But the booklet cover (not included) is clearly signed Charles J Coll, who illustrated Thompson’s works in the Philadelphia Public Ledger. Either way, this large 20″ by 30″ poster is gorgeous and quite rare.
Poster is in quite good condition, but does has some small edge tears and border chipping, the worst corner shown in closeup. Will be shipped rolled in a Priority Mail tube.
