Sold: 1939 BRITISH Wizard of Oz OVER THE RAINBOW Sheet Music UK Printing, Judy Garland Cover

Out of stock

Before MGM’s release of The Wizard of Oz movie in 1939, Leo Feist issued sheet music for six of the songs from the movie. Over the Rainbow was the most popular, with the US version being fairly common. This scarce UK British printing is much more colorful, with an eyepopping scarlet cover and a great image of Judy Garland as Dorothy. Also includes character images of the Wizard, the Witch, Scarecrow, etc.

Four pages, including cover. The main piece has piano music, guitar chords, and the lyrics. The rear cover has a piano accordian solo of Over the Rainbow (that sounds interesting!) “London: Francis, Day and Hunter Ltd” in the bottom corner. With a 1939 Leo Feist copyright. Printed in London by the Compton Printing Works.

In good condition, with some wear and small edge and corner tears, the largest about 1″. Former owner’s name crossed out in top margin. Front graphic is still gorgeous and no writing.
