FATE OF A CROWN Reading Copy, Schuyler Staunton L Frank Baum Pseudonym Oz 1st/1st 1905

In stock

The Fate of a Crown, one of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s books written under pseudonym Schuyler Staunton. Published by Reilly & Britton (printed by Lakeside Press), 1905. With 6 black and white plates (as issued). First edition, 1st printing, with the last page number being 306 (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum.) This is a “wild and homeless” book, in rough condition looking for a non-judgmental home.

Book is in at best fair condition; the main issue being water staining to cover and edges of interior pages. Publishers imprint on spine no longer visible. Binding is cracked at half-title page, so book is a little floppy. Six plates are all present, but heavily water stained on edges. Some bleed of red stain to page edges. Some finger soiling and a few page tears. A reading copy of a relatively hard to find Baum first, heavily discounted.
