Here’s The Boy Fortune Hunters in Alaska, by Wizard of Oz author L Frank Baum writing under a pseudonym, Floyd Akers. Published by Reilly & Britton, copyright 1908, first edition (with white cover lettering), 1st printing with 3 B&W plates (as issued) and The Reilly & Britton Co in capital letters on the spine. Also with “CHICAGO” error–both above and below the company name on the title page (The Book Collectors Guide to Baum, p. 282).
This book is in fair to good to condition, the most obvious issue is that the text block has been reglued to the spine itself, so likely it had come loose at one time. Front cover looks pretty good, with very little rubbing of the white ink used for lettering, but perimeter and spine have considerable wear to the brown cloth as shown. Front free endpaper is missing, likely excised with an inscription, hinges cracked, with bookseller’s notations on front and rear endpaper. Pages and plates in very good condition with some soiling here and there. Priced at a discount for the budget collector.
