Description

Here is a set of three early Aunt Jane’s Nieces series books written by L. Frank Baum under the Edith Van Dyne pseudonym. This popular series was published between 1906 and 1918 by Reilly and Britton, and these are the first three books in the series–Aunt Jane’s Nieces, Aunt Jane’s Nieces Abroad, and Aunt Jane’s Nieces at Millville. These have been reprinted again in recent decades, but why bother with slick modern versions when you can have all the character and quality of the originals at about the same price? These are all original Reilly & Britton editions, dating them to prior to 1919. Technically they are “first editions”, but they are not first printings of the first edition, as they have later books listed in the title list in front. They measure about 7 5/8 to 5 3/4″ tall”/ All with complete texts and frontispieces, intact bindings, and actually not a bad read even 100 years later!

Aunt Jane’s Nieces: Lists to Aunt Jane’s Nieces and Uncle John on back of half-title page, in very good condition with 1911 inscription in front.
Aunt Jane’s Nieces Abroad lists to Aunt Jane’s Nieces in the Red Cross on back of half-title, in very good condition with period inscription in front.
Aunt Jane’s Nieces at Millville lists to Aunt Jane’s Nieces in Society on back of half-title page, fair to good condition with owner’s name in front and old tape mark, cracked hinges, and scuffing/wear to spine as shown.
