Here is an early edition of Prince Mud-Turtle, one of the “Twinkle Tales” written by L. Frank Baum under the Laura Bancroft pseudonym. Published by Reilly & Britton, this is a 2nd edition (Typed title page, blank white endpapers. Reference: August 1972 Baum Bugle). Circa 1910. Contains full-page color illustrations by Maginel Wright Enright (sister to Frank Lloyd Wright).
These are fragile little books, with this one in about average condition. The cover is a bit dirty and has a large scuff to the paper below “TLE” of the title, and about 1/2 of the paper spine label missing, with the top half glued down. The interior has a 1919 gift inscription, and all pages are present and in decent condition. Some soiling and two pages have small tears–one closed and one with the corner torn off, ~1/2″ square. Binding is a little loose, with some splitting at rear endpapers, but holding together. Fair to good.
