Four vintage books and two inscribed by the classic storyteller about horses, Marguerite Henry. All illustrated hardcovers published by Rand McNally.

1) Sea Star, Orphan of Chincoteague. Rand McNally & Company, Eighteenth Printing (1974). Illustrated by Wesley Dennis. Inscribed “For Holly, who shares my love of horses [horsehoe]. Marguerite Henry”. Very good plus condition, corner bumping, light wear, tight.

2) The Illustrated Marguerite Henry. Rand McNally & Company, First Printing (1980). Illustrated by Wesley Dennis. Inscribed “Meet my artists who have breathed life into my characters—the four legged and the two! Sincerely, Marguerite Henry”. Celebrates her illustrators, including Wesley Dennis, Robert Lougheed, Lynd Ward and Rich Rudish. Very good condition, some scratch marks to cover, tight, a couple pages with dog-ears.

3) The White Stallion of Lipizza. Rand McNally & Company, First Printing (1964). Illustrated by Wesley Dennis. With dust jacket. Book very good plus, tight, light foxing to top of text block, prior owner’s plastic name label with some offsetting to opposite page, La Jolla bookstore seal on rear endpaper. Dust jacket good plus with wear to spine ends and flap folds, a couple closed tears (longest 1 1/4”), price clipped.

4) A Pictorial Life Story of Misty. Rand McNally & Company, Third Printing (1985). Illustrated by Wesley Dennis. Very good, light cover wear, tight, small stain top of front endpapers.
