Description
A first-thus edition of Fairy Tales from Andersen with an introduction by L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz author) describing how the Christmas stocking came to be. One of the Christmas Stocking series books designed to put inside children’s stockings. Copyright 1905 by Reilly & Britton, this is the first printing with the title page marked 1905, and a deep red cloth spine.
This tiny book is only about 3″ by 4″ and contains 126 numbered pages. Many color illustrations and some b/w ones.
In good to very good condition, with a slightly scuffed pastedown and some edge wear. Inside, both hinges are intact but the page gatherings are a little loose, but still attached. Some of the pages have staining, and there is a 1906 gift inscription in front. A scarce little book. See my others in this set listed!
