A first-thus edition of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, with an introduction by L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz author) describing how the Christmas stocking came to be. One of the Christmas Stocking series books designed to put inside children’s stockings. Copyright 1905 by Reilly & Britton, this is the first printing with the title page marked 1905, and a deep red cloth spine.
This tiny book is only about 3″ by 4″ and contains 119 numbered pages. Many color illustrations and some b/w ones.
In good condition, with quite a somewhat worn cover (some creasing) and spine, moderate edge wear. Inside, both hinges are intact but the first few page gatherings are loose, but still attached. Be gentle with it. The pages are in nice condition overall and there is a 1906 gift inscription in front. A scarce little book.
