The Fate of a Crown, one of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s books written under pseudonym Schuyler Staunton. Published by Reilly & Britton (printed by Lakeside Press), 2nd edition ca. 1912 according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. With white cover and spine lettering and  black and white plates frontispiece. 291 pages. Binding format matches 2nd edition of Baum’s Daughters of Destiny.

Book is in near very good condition, with slight bubbling to cloth on cover; spine faded with white lettering rubbed off. Cloth in otherwise in good condition. Inside, hinges are intact, period bookplate inside cover and erased gift inscription opposite, otherwise pages are clean and the frontispiece is in great shape. Rear endpaper with pencil notation that prior owner bought book from “Mrs Robt. Ford” in 1962. Alla T Ford was a bookseller who was a charter member of the International Wizard of Oz Club. A relatively hard to find edition of an unusual Baum title.
