Description
Here is an early copy of “The Land of Oz”, 2nd of the Oz books written by L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1904, this is a 1920s printing with 12 color plates by John R Neill. With the paste-down cover label, and black and white pictorial endpapers.
This book is in good but not very good condition overall. The exterior pastedown has some scuffing, and the base of spine is significantly frayed, other wear to cloth. Inside, the front hinge has been glue repaired and the rear hinge is starting to crack, with a little staining and toning to rear endpapers. The binding is starting to crack at the title page (but holding), and “Rinaldo” was proud of his name. All 12 color plates are present and in very good condition except for one with some edge tearing, and the pages opposite the plates have age toning. Also with a fair amount of finger soiling on some of the pages and text block edge. A venerable copy.
