Here is a nice suede version of “A Message to Garcia” (and Thirteen Other Things), the inspirational missive that launched Elbert Hubbard to fame in 1899. Printed by the Roycrofters in East Aurora, New York in 1901. 6 1/4″ x 9 1/4″ and 166 numbered pages. Printed in black and red.
Book is in very good condition. Exterior suede is very nice; still soft and much better than usual, with spine and all yapp edges intact. Brown silk endpapers in great shape; front hinge cracked about 1/2 way up. “Stennenberg 1902” written on front blank endpaper. Pages very good; clean and nice. Tissue guard with Hubbard’s portrait still attached. Overall very clean and attractive; a collectible early Garcia.
