Here is Love Life Work, a book written by Elbert Hubbard and published in 1906 by the Roycrofters. 150 pages plus colophon. The cover, title page, initials and ornaments in the book are beautifully crafted by famed papermaker and designer Dard Hunter. The cover is a nice green suede, with green moire endpapers and the pages are printed in red and black ink. 1st and only edition. Later Elbert’s wife Alice published a companion book in similar format entitled “Woman’s Work”. There is a nice frontispiece of Elbert by Otto Schneider protected with a tissue guard. A collection of Hubbard’s essays from The Philistine.
The book is in very good condition. As is typical, the exterior green suede is sunned to brown on spine and edges but is intact and otherwise in nice condition. Spine is in good condition. The binding is solid, and the green silk bookmark is present but detached and a little frayed. Some foxing opposite frontispiece and a touch to hinges. Endpapers have faint impression from something laid in to the book. The pages are otherwise in very good condition with no writing or tears noted.
